The Phu Yen Union of Friendship organizations

1. Foundation:
- On February 01st, 1990, The  Phu Yen Union of Friendship Organizations was founded by the Decision No 137-/QD-TU of  Phu Yen  Provincial Party Committee.
- On Novenber 21st, 2015, an Executive Board of 31 members chaired by Mr.Ngo Van Quy was accredited in the fourth Congress, the  2015 - 2020 term of the Phu Yen Union of Friendship Organizations.
- On December 26th, 2015, The PYUFO’S regulations was approved  with the Decision No 2549-/QD-UB of Phu Yen  Provincial People’s Committee
Currently, the Phu Yen Union of Friendship Organizations has 07 member Associations and 01 Committee for foreign NGO affairs.
- The Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Phu Yen province;
- The Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Phu Yen province;
- The Vietnam - China Friendship Association  of Phu Yen province;
- The Vietnam - South Korea Friendship Association  of Phu Yen province;
- The Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association of  of Phu Yen province;
- The Vietnam - India Friendship Association of  of Phu Yen province;
 - The Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of  of Phu Yen province.
-  The Phu Yen Committee for foreign NGO affairs .
The Traditional Day: November 17th, 1950 is the Traditional Day of People-to-people Diplomacy Sector.

3. Functions and tasks of the Phu Yen Union of Friendship Organizations and the member Associations.
3.1.  Functions
The Phu Yen Union of Friendship Organizations (PYUFO) is a socio-political organization, specialized in people – to – people diplomacy and plays the key role in foreign non-governmental organization (NGO) affairs.
-PYUFO operates within the Law of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It has its permanent office, legal status, its own stamp and bank account.
-PYUFO operates in accordance with its own philosophy, objectives and statutes. It is a member organization of the PY Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. It is also under the leadership of the PYP Party Committee and the PYP People’s Committee.
 
3.2. Tasks:
- Carry out friendship and cooperation activities to:
+ Enhance, consolidate and develop solidarity and cooperation, support and build bridges for diplomatic, political, economic, cultural, educational and tourism activities of Phu Yen province with other localities of different countries in the world.
+ Give international friends a more comprehensive understanding of Vietnam and its people; enlist supports of people from all over the world to the cause of the national construction and protection, its territorial sovereignty. To raise awareness of the people of Phu Yen about the diplomatic policies of Vietnam, world news and global issues. 
+ Act as the focal agency to contact INGOs and mobilize INGO aid for the socio-economic development of Phu Yen.
+ Encourage the oversea Vietnamese communities, especially Phu Yen people living abroad to think about their home town and enthusiastically contribute to the development of the province.
+ Guide the member Associations; coordinate with local agencies to carry out people-to-people diplomacy activities effectively in accordance with the direction of the province.
